Mission

"We are what we repeatedly do...Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit"
-Aristotle

Victory Collegiate Consulting is committed to providing honest, objective and informed advisement through the various phases of the college athletics recruiting process. Using a detailed and proven approach, the aim of VCC is to assist families in building and executing their individual recruiting plans, as seen through the eyes of a former Division 1 college coach and assist them in identifying educational institutions that potentially "match" with the prospect. The VCC approach is informative, practical and educational, where parents and students grow confidence, and level the playing field as they navigate the college quest.

Tom Kovic Founder and President

That being said, our goal is to develop personal relationships with families, based on respect and provide them with individual guidance. Tom Kovic is committed to working "one on one" with a limited number of families, in an effort to offer a high level of personal family attention, while maintaining the highest business and personal integrity.

Below is a "snapshot" of specific areas of college athletics recruiting that will be covered, whether it is during a large group presentation, webinar, or during an individual term of service:
  • Time-lines in developing an efficient and productive recruiting plan.
  • Pertinent questions families should ask college coaches.
  • Building strong, efficient and self promoting personal profiles, DVD's and websites.
  • Communication with college coaches and how to effectively promote and position the student-athlete.
  • Admission to the Ivy League and some of the most selective academic institutions in America.
  • Athletic Scholarships: Availablity, strategy and how to best proceed.
  • The prospect, "special interest" and successfully navigating financial aid opportunities for non scholarship schools.
  • Understanding NCAA rules regarding contacts, evaluations, college visits and eligibility.
  • Campus visits and how to manage a critical component of recruiting.
  • Timing in promoting the student-athlete and where his/her goals fit with the needs of the college coach.
  • Organizing personal recruiting plans into a finely tuned machine.
  • The "team" approach and how developing an impeccable management style will assist and guide families through a "seamless recruiting effort.
  • "Executing" your recruiting plan with skill, confidence and grabbing the "brass ring"
  •

Each family brings individual goals and needs to the college search. Listening carefully to our parents, their children and gaining an understanding about their goals, dreams and personal circumstances is a cornerstone of our service. This approach will only assist us in providing effective, personal guidance as we move forward as a team in navigating the college search.

              Dear Mr. Kovic:

My family and I would like to thank you for walking us through a very confusing and difficult process. We had no idea how time consuming and frustrating college recruitment is. After meeting with you, and you providing our family with so much assistance, the process became very easy. We were not even aware that there were so many deadlines that we had to meet. If it were not for you guiding us through this, we would have missed many deadlines. We appreciate so much that you guided us through this whole process, and explained in detail what steps we needed to take. You also have such a way with teenagers! We guess that comes naturally after 20 years of coaching! The knowledge that you have obtained after 20 years of coaching is invaluable. We have enjoyed working with you so much, and we are so grateful to you for everything you have done for us.

    Sincerely,
    M. Pressey (Moorestown, NJ)

"In my nineteen years as a college coach, I have come to embrace one truth. The college experience is probably the most important time in the life of our children in that it will strongly shape their purpose and direction for the future. Therefore, the goal of Victory Collegiate Consulting is simple. Provide families with the necessary tools and information needed to assist them in organizing efficiently and developing the confidence needed to arrive at their best and most comfortable college choice."
